Method cards
In Senior Seminar, we had to create five method cards. Method cards are cards that we can use in conversation with a community member. They have a clear intention, and a series of questions that will aid us in gaining insight into a topic we want to know more about. There are both qualitative questions, which are questions designed to receive stories and information, and quantitative questions, which are designed to receive measurable data. These method cards don't necessarily need to be all entirely different topics, but they each should have 4 to 5 of each type of questions. As said, these method cards are meant to be used in conversation with a community member, and these conversations should be directly related to our senior project. It is meant to help us gain insight into topics that we may want to know more about and to find out information that could help us proceed with the project.
The 21st Century Skill that relates to this project is Interpersonal Skills. Although the creation of the cards doesn't have to do with community, the purpose of this project is to eventually use these cards in conversation. These cards are meant to be used as an aid in said conversations with different community members. I've already used one of these cards to have a conversation with a friend about songwriting. I do plan on using these cards to help aid me in future conversations that I'm going to have to help with my project. I've prepared cards on Coping Mechanisms, Creative Outlets, Producing, and Recording as well. There are also a lot of other questions I want to ask someone that I haven't written down. If I could change anything about this project, I'd write more specific questions about my topics. Some of the questions I wrote seemed a bit too broad, and with the single conversation I had, I wasn't able to find out some of the information that I wanted to know about. |
