In my physics class, we had to do a mini research presentation on two telescopes, the Hubble and James Webb, and compare them. We had to describe how each telescope was constructed, include pictures and diagrams, explain and apply the physics principles we learned on these telescopes, explain what data is/will be collected to prove the Big Bang Theory, list key differences, and pick our favorite.
I think this project is a good example of Self Directional Skills. This is because it was entirely independent research. Each student was given the exact same task, yet a lot of us ended up including different information. There would be times I'd listen to a presentation and the presenter said something that I didn't include in my own, and vice versa. We spent a lot of time in class working on it, and really the only guided part would be our teacher walking around the classroom to make sure we're working. If I were to improve on this project, I think I'd spend more time to thoroughly explain everything I researched. From the slideshow itself, I feel as if there isn't as much as there should be. I should've spent more time on that. |
